What Makes a Good Cover-Up
A successful cover-up depends heavily on:

Color / darkness of the original tattoo
Very dark ink or dense black lines limit lighter colors you can use. Many covers rely on darker tones or more saturated color to obscure the old. -
Size & scale
In many cases, the new design needs to be larger or denser (more shading, more detail) than the original to fully mask it. -
